On Friday 12th February we celebrated Mardi Gras. This is traditionally the day when people around the world prepare for the fasting at Lent by using up their luxury food such as eggs and sugar. In Britain we make pancakes. In Poland they make Doughnuts. At school we have had a big celebration. We made masks, hats , and pancakes. We learned the Jerusalema dance. We made a float and did a procession around the playground. We said a prayer and put the Alleluia in a box because we do not say Alleluia during Lent.
