On Tuesday 21st February we celebrated Mardi Gras. This is traditionally the day when people around the world prepare for the fasting at Lent by using up their luxury food such as eggs and sugar. In Britain we make pancakes. In Poland they make Doughnuts. At school we have had a big celebration. We made masks, hats, and pancakes. The Prayer Leaders made an "Alleluia" banner and we did a procession around the Church and through the school playground. We said a prayer and put the Alleluia in a box because we do not say Alleluia during Lent.
