6C World War Artwork
09.10.20
Eric Henri Kennington was a painter and sculptor. Throughout his employment as an Official War Artist in 1917-18, and again in 1940-42, he produced a large number of idealised pastel portraits that concentrated on the ordinary serviceman.
As Eric used charcoal in his pictures, we used the same medium to create our own war soldier portraits.
I have to say, I was massively blown away I by their art this week! Very proud of them all! I cannot wait to see what other artistic talents they have hidden.

As the children enjoyed completing their Eric Kennington-style war portaits so much, we decided to complete another piece in his style, of Walter Tull- a British army officer.
This was to link with our War topic but also with Black History Month.
