House Captains

We believe that children need to experience duties and responsibilities that come with being a member of a community in order to help them prepare to play an active role as citizens.

At OLOV, we believe that the role of House Captain is a very important role to play in the day to day organisation of our school and as only Year Six pupils are allowed to apply for this position, it is considered to be very prestigious.  They are, in a sense, junior members of staff and are expected to take their roles seriously.

The position not only allows the Year Six pupils to lead by example and demonstrate their responsibility, it also enables the younger children to learn from a good example.

House Captain duties include:

  • Being responsible for promoting their School House, within the school community.
  • Representing their house in assemblies
  • Working with staff to arrange inter-house events and charity events
  • Acting as a positive role model
  •
