Year 2
Welcome to Year 2's 2025-26 class page!
Autumn
We have had a busy start to the year. The children settled in so well and so quickly. Their enthusiasm for learning has been inspiring and they have already shown great interest in our topics.
Through English, history & Art, we transported ourselves back to 1666 and magically transformed into Samuel Pepys, writing diary entries about the dramatic events of the Great Fire of London. The children did a brilliant job imagining what life was like during such an important event in history. We had a super workshop and all the children helped to retell this dramatic historical event.
In maths, we’ve been hard at work learning all about centimetres and metres. With metre sticks in hand, we’ve been measuring everything in sight—doors, bookshelves, and yes, even the teachers! The children are having great fun applying their measuring skills. We have explored fractions and have worked on a whole, half, a third and three quarters.
